SEVERAL INDIAN-AMERICANS IN OBAMA-BIDEN TEAM

 

President-elect of USA, Barack Obama (Who is to take over as President of America on January 20, 2009), has so far appointed several persons of Indian origin in his transition team. They are

(1) Sonal Shah (40) who was heading Google’s philanthropic arm. She will checkout his administration's high tech priorities.(She is at present on leave of absence from Google.)

(2) Preeta Bansal (42) who has been Solicitor General of New York and the USA’s International Religious Freedom Commission and was part of the 22 member inner circle which worked for Obama’s victory.She was born in Roorkee(Uttarakhand) in 1966.

(3) Nicholas Rathod has been appointed Director to the office of inter- governmental Affairs.

(4) Arti Rai, a professor of patent law at Duke University and a classmate of Barak Obama at Harvard Law School.

(5) Anjan Mukherjee, who has been involved in the executive of a number of investments in a wide range of industries. He will be in the Economy & International Trade group.

And also, Parag Mehta, Rachna Bhowmik, Subhasri Ramanathan, Natasha Bilimoria and Puneet Talwar.
